Battle

The work Batalla tells the fictional story of a Spanish naval battle.

The Spanish sounds are translated into elements of flamenco and return in the form of castanets and clapping by the ensemble.

Furthermore, the composition can be seen as a triptych with, among other things, a calm middle section, in which the soldiers think back to their loved ones during the many battles. What follows is a final section with a cheerful melody that, due to the jazz/fusion elements, strongly contrasts with the rest of the work.

Judging from the sounds and climax of the chords, we can assume that the story at least has a happy ending.
