About the composition
About the composition
This three-part work tells the story of the Indian sun god Alkuntam.
Part 1: sun rises
In the first part you can hear how the first rays of sun shine through the trees and the day breaks. The sun rises and everything awakens. People go to work and become active.
Part 2: sunset
Part two sounds the sunset. Everyone comes to rest and think about their day. The last samples provide a beautiful spectacle of colors in the sky.
Part 3: Worship
The last part is all about celebration, joy and dance. In many countries, sun gods are worshipped by means of large celebrations. Celebration for the harvest, the dawning of better times.
